this is his 15th trip to afghanistan, he made his way south to a very volatile area in afghanistan. so he was expecting questions, the fact that 10,000 troops will be going home by the end of the year, 28,000 by the end of next year. but these soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines want to know will they be getting their paychecks. they're very worried about that, and it's saddening to think that on their list of boworries, rpg iegs and now will they be paid. >> they have very tight budgets. >> absolutely. some of these men and women are living paycheck to paycheck. they have fam less back home depends on these paychecks. some of these men and women who come to afghanistan volunteer because they get a slight boost in their salaries. right now they're wondering if it's worth it, because will their families get the paychecks. and those are families worrying for their loved ones and they're also worrying, will they be able to pay for next week's groceries. the men and women here are worried about that, and they know they shouldn't be worrying about that in a war zone. >> atia, thank you
